MICAH 6:8 He has told you, O mortal, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindess,
and to walk humbly with your God?
Justice in Hebrew is pronounced mish.pat which means act of deciding a case or a cause presented for judgment. Please allow me to present my mish.pat, a cause for justice. In the midst of a world pandemic, when social distancing is required, let us remember love instead of hate, let us remember trust instead of distrust. Let us remember, while it is a constitutional right to bear arms, it is also a constitutional right that a person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Let us remember, in these United States there is no room for vigilante justice. Now is time for the Department of Justice, to exercise Justice. Now is time for investigating officers to really investigate. Now is time for prosecutors to prosecute. Now is time to do that which is right versus that which is not. There is nothing that can make sense out of nonsense, there is nothing that can make a family whole after the death of a love one.
There are many names, Philando Castile, Stephan Clark, Alton Sterling, Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland, Tanisha Anderson, and John Crawford to name a few. Sadly, we now add Ahmaud Arbery to the long list of names. Let us all mish.pat, do justice, and support the loved ones, family, and friends of Ahmaud Arbery
UPDATE: Gregory and Travis McMichael have been arrested and charged in the death of Ahmaud Arbery. That is only the first step. Continue to pray that justice rolls down like the mighty waters. Do not be alarmed that at the initial hearing the McMichaels enter not guilty pleas. Many defendants enter a not guilty plea in order to have time to prepare a defense, plea-bargain with the prosecutor, or other legal strategies, including waiving their constitutional right to a speedy trial. Continue to watch and pray.
